Carnarvon once had an Illinois Central Railroad (IC) mainline and two Chicago & North Western Railway (C&NW) secondary lines. Today, Canadian National Railway operates the former IC and the C&NW line heading northwest from the town, while both lines heading south and east from the town have been abandoned.
