Livermore once had a Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad (Rock Island) secondary line and a Minneapolis & St. Louis Railway (M&StL) secondary line. Today, the former Rock Island is owned by Union Pacific Railroad, while the former M&StL has been abandoned.
