Jamaica once had a Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific Railroad (Milwaukee Road) mainline and a Milwaukee Road secondary line. Today, the Raccoon River Valley Trail uses the right-of-way of the secondary line and of the mainline east of the town. West of the town, the mainline has been abandoned.
