Castalia once had a Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific Railroad (Milwaukee Road) secondary line and a Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad (Rock Island) branch line. Today, the former Milwaukee Road is owned by CPKC while the former Rock Island has been abandoned.
