The Chicago & North Western Railway (C&NW) operated mainlines along the south border and east edge of the community and the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific Railroad (Milwaukee Road) operated a mainline along the north border of the community. Today, the C&NW is owned by Union Pacific Railroad, while the former Milwaukee Road is now part of the 606 Trail. In addition, the CTA "L" operates the Blue Line through the community.
