Located under Ely's Peak in New Duluth, this short tunnel currently carries a trail under the summit.
Built in 1912, the tunnel uses a bored design. There is no lining in the tunnel.
Overall, the tunnel appears to remain in great condition. The rock type it is bored through, a type of strong metamorphic rock, should continue to hold for many years to come.

The author has ranked the tunnel as being locally significant, due to the short design and newer age.
