Nelson, Illinois

Nelson had a pair of railroads, which served the Chicago & North Western Railway. One was the C&NW mainline from Omaha and points west to Chicago. The other was the mainline towards Peoria and Springfield, as well as the coal rich land of Sangamon County.

Today, both lines continue to serve as mainlines for the Union Pacific Railroad.
