Floyd County is a county in north central Iowa, and is located in the second row of counties from Minnesota.
Charles city is the seat, and the largest city. Floyd County is named for Sgt. Floyd on the Lewis and Clark expedition.
It is bordered by Mitchell, Chickasaw, Butler, Cerro Gordo, Howard, Bremer and Franklin Counties.
Main highways include US-18, US-218, IA-27, IA-14 and IA-147.
