Dixon, Illinois

Located on the banks of the Rock River, and situated approximately halfway between Rockford and Rock Island, the city of Dixon is a significant northern Illinois town..
The city had two railroads. An East/West Chicago & North Western line provided a connection from Chicago to Iowa. This is now a Union Pacific Mainline.
In addition, a North/South Illinois Central line crossed the state. This line has since been abandoned.
