Cooper County is located in Central Missouri. It is named for Sarshell Cooper, a pioneer killed near Arrow Rock by Native Americans.
The seat and largest city are both Boonville.
It borders Howard, Boone, Moniteau, Morgan, Pettis and Saline Counties.
Main highways include I-70, US-40, MO-5 and MO-41.
