Caldwell County is located in North West Missouri. It is named for John Caldwell, a politician from Kentucky.
The seat is Kingston, while the largest city is Hamilton. It is located on the outside fringes of the Kansas City metropolitan area.
It borders Daviess, Livingston, Carroll, Ray, Clinton and DeKalb Counties.
Main highways through the county include US-36, MO-13 and MO-116.
