Barnes County, North Dakota

Barnes County is located in East Central North Dakota. It is named for Alanson H. Barnes, a judge. It was originally named Burbank County.
The seat and largest city are Valley City. The Sheyenne River runs through the county.
Barnes County borders Griggs, Steele, Cass, Ransom, LaMoure and Stutsman County.
Main highways through the county include I-94, US-52, ND-1, ND-32 and ND-46.
