By 1879, the route became part of the St. Paul, Minneapolis & Manitoba Railway. In 1888, the Moorhead and South Eastern Railway continued the route, building between Breckenridge and Moorhead, Minnesota.
Both routes became part of the Great Northern Railway in 1890, but would not be fully owned until 1907. The Great Northern continued to operate this line until the 1970 merger with Northern Pacific and the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy, which formed Burlington Northern.
Burlington Northern continued to operate this route until 1996, when they were merged with the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway to form BNSF.
Currently, BNSF operates this route as the Moorhead Subdivision.

Located just east of Morris, this large deck girder bridge crosses the Pomme De Terre River.
Built in 1953 to replace an older deck girder bridge, this structure features three large deck girder spans, set onto concrete substructures.
The remains of the old bridge can be seen below the new bridge.
Overall, the bridge appears to be in good condition.
The author has ranked the bridge as being minimally significant, due to the common design and newer age.
